Start reading Emily Blaine with Dear You if you want to follow Kathleen across a continuing relationship. Choose the Sharp End books for different couples within a band’s world, or the MacRae books for Christmas attraction entangled with running a Scottish hotel. For a single novel outside that seasonal choice, investigate La librairie des rêves suspendus or Ma folie la plus douce. These are different invitations, even when their covers share the same author name.

The useful first question is what you want to carry from one reading session into the next. A particular heroine’s uncertainty? A social circle whose next member takes the foreground? A workplace you would enjoy returning to? Choosing that thread makes Blaine’s catalog easier to navigate than collecting every attractive title. It also helps separate a new couple from a new edition of a relationship you already own.

This guide compares verified French publisher descriptions and edition records, checked on 25 October 2026. The French titles identify the books discussed; they do not promise translated editions. Recommendations below concern advertised premises and reading choices, rather than claims to have read every complete novel or guarantees about endings.

At the Peninsula: stay with Kathleen

The first Dear You volume introduces Kathleen at New York’s Peninsula, with three romantic possibilities: a wealthy guest, a bartender colleague and an unknown correspondent. That combination offers several ways of being noticed.

As a reader, you might be most interested in the difference between someone encountering a public professional self and someone encountering a private voice. An employee has a job to do; correspondence creates another kind of meeting. If that contrast attracts you, beginning with Kathleen lets you discover how your own sympathies form. You need not decide which possible relationship interests you most before opening the first volume.

It is also a useful choice if you enjoy uncertainty remaining attached to one person. Moving through a continuing story means remembering what you thought at an earlier stage and reconsidering it later. A reader who likes comparing impressions across evenings may welcome that experience. Someone who wants a new central pair with each purchase has a different reason to choose another part of the catalog.

Keep the three-volume route together: first volume, Dear You T2, then Dear You T3. The publisher explicitly identifies T2 as the second volume and T3 as the third, with warnings that their descriptions reveal earlier developments. Read the opening description before deciding, then leave the later summaries alone if discovery matters to you.

Dear You: acts, volumes and the complete edition

The catalog also preserves Dear You – Saison 1, labeled the trilogy’s first volume, and shorter numbered acts in the same series. These labels belong to the publishing history of Kathleen’s story. Adding the acts to the three volumes does not produce ten unrelated novels.

For a straightforward first reading, select one identified route. If you have volume one, look for the following volume. If you own older acts, inspect their contents before filling supposed gaps with another collected edition. An exact table mapping every act to every volume has not been established here, so the numbers should not be treated as interchangeable measurements.

The current Collector Dear You record links an ebook whose authorized sample metadata identifies it as Dear You – L’intégrale, ISBN 9782280300643. Consider the integral as another way of holding the story, rather than a fourth sequel after T3. Check the precise contents of the selected edition if supplementary material is your reason for buying.

This distinction can change a gift choice. A recipient who prefers one object may appreciate a collected edition; someone testing a new author may prefer the first volume. Those are preferences about handling the reading commitment, rather than different claims about which relationship is inside. A collector label alone does not tell you which additional scenes a particular print version includes.

Readers arriving from television have another adjustment to make. The publisher’s adaptation discussion distinguishes the books’ New York, Kathleen, Andrew and letters from the screen version’s Paris, Alma, Alex and app. Let the novel introduce its own people. A television season number cannot identify the book volume you need next.

Sharp End: return to a band, meet another couple

The Sharp End integral lists three novels in this order: T’embrasser sous la neige, Rendez-vous au chalet des cœurs oubliés, and Veux-tu passer tous tes Noël avec moi ? It collects the trilogy and advertises a bonus chapter.

That gives you a different sort of return from Dear You. Your interest can rest in a circle of people while the romantic foreground changes. Beginning with the first listed novel is a conservative way to meet that circle without seeking later relationship information in advance. The collection is an option for reading the sequence together; it does not add a fourth main novel to the list.

For a more specific comparison, Veux-tu passer tous tes Noël avec moi ? pairs drummer Maxime with returning photographer Mathilde after two years apart. Her proposed friendship complicates his wish to resume their former relationship.

That premise suits curiosity about an old connection whose terms cannot simply be assumed. The interesting reader question is what counts as a fresh encounter when people already know each other. Are you drawn to the possibility that familiarity helps, or to the challenge of recognizing how someone has changed? Neither question predicts the resolution. Both explain why this particular band romance might attract you.

The touring context also offers a different imaginative appeal from a settled household. If you like the idea of professional proximity continuing while a personal relationship becomes uncertain, keep this title in view. If your immediate wish is to inhabit one place, the castle or bookshop premises below may make a more direct first invitation. Christmas is only one part of the choice.

MacRae: a hotel can mean two different romantic pressures

In De neige et de tartan, Callum runs the family castle as a luxury hotel; consultant Isla arrives to refresh its Christmas offering. The publisher’s series page groups it under Noël au château MacRae.

This is a contemporary hospitality premise. The castle invites interest in a place being maintained, managed and changed. If you enjoy a romantic encounter tied to disagreement about how something should work, Callum and Isla give you a specific starting point. A familiar building can matter to one person as responsibility and to another as possibility; that is a useful tension to want from a reading choice.

Compare the attraction with Kathleen’s. Both premises involve hospitality, yet your reason for choosing need not be the same. At the Peninsula, you may be intrigued by the difference between professional visibility and private correspondence. At MacRae, you may be interested in what happens when another person brings a different approach into an established environment. The hotel setting alone cannot settle that preference.

De Neige et de Faux Baisers turns to chef Rory and returning pastry chef Effie, whose staged romance meets professional scrutiny. It belongs to the same castle series and carries a publication date of 14 October 2026, already past at this guide’s check date.

You are therefore choosing another couple within the setting, rather than the next numbered stage of Callum and Isla’s relationship. Put De neige et de tartan first if meeting the setting in publication order appeals. Put Rory and Effie on your prospective list when the idea of a public performance inside a working kitchen is what catches your attention. This recommendation does not claim that every entry is free of references to previous events.

Leave Christmas behind: a bookshop or a family rivalry

La librairie des rêves suspendus brings struggling Charente bookseller Sarah together with actor Maxime Maréchal, doing community service at her shop. This Maxime is an actor; the Sharp End Maxime is a drummer. A shared first name does not establish a connection.

Choose the bookshop premise if the attraction of a practical place matters more to you than seasonal decoration. A shop can be someone’s livelihood, private enthusiasm and daily responsibility simultaneously. That is a distinctive reason to investigate Sarah’s story: you may want a romance whose invitation includes another person entering a life already organized around something deeply valued.

The actor’s profession offers another point to consider. You might enjoy the prospect of a public identity meeting ordinary work, where reputation and practical contribution can be considered separately. That is a reading interest suggested by the setup, rather than a claim about particular repair scenes or a character’s eventual transformation. The sample can help you decide whether the actual narrative voice makes you want to stay.

Ma folie la plus douce instead puts Hamilton Monroe and Violette Cosgrove amid Ashbourne’s family rivalry, revenge and an engagement decided without Violette. Investigate this one when family allegiance and personal choice are the tensions you want in the foreground.

The difference from the bookshop is useful. One invitation begins with accommodating someone within a valued working life; the other raises the attraction of choosing under pressure from a family name. You can prefer one tonight without deciding which is universally lighter, deeper or more romantic. The reviewed product pages present these as individual novels without a numbered sequence, making either a manageable first lead outside the two seasonal groups.

One winter novel can contain several romantic beginnings

Tout en haut de ma liste is presented as a roman choral: Jefferson and Alana, Olivia and Callum, and Mason and Stella share one novel’s ensemble design. Three pairs do not mean three separately numbered volumes.

Choose this form when variety within the same reading project sounds inviting. You may enjoy shifting your attention between different kinds of anticipation while remaining with one book. Someone who prefers a single central relationship can instead begin with the bookshop or the first Dear You volume. The number of couples and the number of purchases answer different questions.

Be careful with the Callum name here too. It identifies Olivia’s friend in this description; the reviewed record does not establish him as the Scottish hotel manager. Remembering a role alongside a name is enough to prevent a supposed crossover from guiding the next choice.

Two collection titles create actual overlap. Christmas Is All Around reissues Tout en haut de ma liste with All I Want for Christmas. Un Noël avec Emily Blaine lists those two plus L’amour est très gourmand.

If you own Tout en haut de ma liste, either collection repeats that work. If you own Christmas Is All Around, the larger collection overlaps its two named works. You might still want the additional title, or prefer the convenience of a grouped edition. Make that decision from the contents, since a different Christmas phrase on the cover does not establish an entirely new set of stories.

What the winter ensemble and its companion stories actually offer

Jefferson and Alana enter a sociological study; Olivia needs her friend Callum to impersonate a fiancé for her parents; the famous Mason answers Stella’s advertisement for chalet repairs, although his practical ability does not match his claims. These three openings make Tout en haut de ma liste a more specific choice than merely wanting several couples. Choose it for the combination of an arranged encounter, an invented engagement and a retreat from celebrity within one ensemble.

Olivia’s arrangement also gives a useful comparison with Rory and Effie. Her imaginary fiancé answers a family problem; their performed romance answers a threat to a professional reputation. Both premises use a public romantic role, but the audience and the reason for the performance differ. If you are specifically seeking fake dating, that difference can decide whether to investigate the winter ensemble or De Neige et de Faux Baisers. Compare those advertised situations before choosing a sample.

The other works in Un Noël avec Emily Blaine have their own invitations. In All I Want for Christmas, Emma begins to see her longtime best friend Yann as attractive. That is different from Mathilde explicitly declining to restart her former relationship with Maxime. Choose between the discovery of attraction in a friendship and the renegotiation of an existing intimate history. Shared Christmas imagery cannot tell you which situation interests you more.

L’amour est très gourmand begins with Duncan noticing a woman in a traffic jam, then seeing her enter his pastry shop. Put this beside Rory and Effie only if you want the contrast: the pastry-shop encounter offers a chance to approach someone barely known, while the castle kitchen brings back somebody with whom the chef has a difficult past. Food-related settings therefore lead to different beginnings. The collection’s third title is meaningful additional content for an owner of Christmas Is All Around, but it should be chosen for that premise rather than mistaken for another Kathleen installment.

Explore beyond these particular choices

For a different French-author comparison, our Emma Green starting guide discusses its own continuing relationships and separate entries. If Christmas is the attraction and you want to change period, the historical Christmas romance selection offers a separate direction. A contemporary castle hotel and historical courtship need different expectations.

Dates identify editions as well as stories

La librairie des rêves suspendus has a 2019 original French publication and a 2025 paperback record. Ma folie la plus douce has 2025 ebook and large-format dates and a 2026 paperback. For De neige et de tartan, the 2026 paperback follows the 2025 publication; De Neige et de Faux Baisers is the separate 2026 novel.

Those distinctions matter most when you already own Blaine books. Before adding a recent listing, match title, protagonists and contents. Keep format preferences separate: wanting a smaller physical edition is a good reason to choose one, but its later date does not create an additional plot. Likewise, an integral can simplify the shelf without expanding the main sequence.

Your first choice can remain small: Kathleen for continuity, Sharp End for a music circle, MacRae for a working hotel, Sarah for a bookshop, Hamilton and Violette for family pressure, or the winter ensemble for several beginnings in one novel. Keep the exact French title on your list, confirm the language of the selected edition, and carry that particular preference into any later exploration of the romance book catalog.
